Google’s pursuit for online control sows no indication of narrowing after figures showed its Chrome product is now Britain's second largest trendy web browser.

Almost one in four British internet users now utilize Google Chrome as their web browser only three years after it was initiated. It is now the second largest much liked browser, passing Mozilla’s Firefox and rapidly acquiring ground on Microsoft’s Internet Explorer (IE), the present market leader.

As per the new statistics, Chrome accounts for 22 per cent of the British web market contrasted to 45 per cent for IE. Apple's Safari is number four with a nine per cent share.
Chrome is also the number three browser globally, with one in five users choosing it, according to Statcounter, a web metrics firm.

Chrome's increase comes on the back of Google's control over the search engine market, which it is led for years. IE’s market share is declining in spite of the program being pre-setting up on approximately every computer sold in Britain.

Google said Chrome's flow in fame could be illustrated by its speed, security and a new national promotional campaign. Chrome was the first Google product ever promoted on British television.

Lars Bak, the Google engineer responsible for Chrome, said the company’s objectives were speed. He said users should “not at all be happy” with current speed.
"Speed is a basic part of it, but it's also about the least design and the way it handles security,” he told.

"If you as a user attempt a webpage and it thinks snappy, it's actually tough to go back (to an earlier browser). It has appeared that people consumed additional time interrelate with the web."

He further said: "certainly it obtains harder to take extra acquires, but it's all positive competition.

"From the initiating we thought everybody to be quick, and now all browsers are fast.”

Bosses at the international search engine hope to capitalize on the popularity after senior executives last month unveiled a new Chromebook laptop, which would be based on its browser.

It will be completed by Samsung and Acer but instead of having memory storage space, data will instead be stored online in a “cloud”.
