Joey Barton of Newcastle United condemns US immigration regulations on Twitter

Joey Barton of Newcastle midfielder has condemned US immigration laws that indicate he will miss the club's pre-season tour after being denied a visa.

"Visa story is accurate," said Barton on his Twitter page. "They told me am not permitted in until I have 5 years without any problem. 3 years down, 2 years to go...........

"Completely hypocrisy thinking what they get up to but rules are rules........."

"I can’t be concerned dwelling on negative's, this is my last post about the visa condition."

The 28-year-old, who was given a six-month imprisonment after accepting attack and affray in 2008, has been rejected the essential okay to travel with the rest of the first-team squad when they leave on Sunday.

Barton earlier said in a statement on Newcastle's official website: "unluckily, I was deprived of my visa due to my previous history.

"I apologize for not being able to visit with the club on this tour, but at the same time, I don't think to be treated any differently or more happily than anyone else in a same condition.

"All I can do is carry on to improve as a person, which is what I aim to do.

"Again, regrets to all the NUFC fans - as well as the rapid mounting legions of football supporters in the United States who I was moving forward to meeting. I will see you for the next time."

The news will also come as a blow to manager Alan Pardew as he faces the view of having to do without a key member of his team for a major part of his training for the new challenge.

Newcastle will play three matches in the US against Sporting Kansas on Wednesday, July 20, Orlando City three days later and Columbus Crew on Tuesday, July 26.

Barton will instead work towards his match fitness in the second string's differences with Hollandia, FC Utrecht and Almere City.

The ex Manchester City player was one of the club's most striking players last season as he come back to his best to help the Magpies ease their way to a 12th-place finish in their first season back in the Premier League.

Pardew indicated his focus to tie him up in a new agreement long before the campaign drew to a close, but having not succeeded to consent terms in January, he was told at the begin of the closed-season that he would not be getting an opportunity.

Barton has struggled in the present years to handle the difficulties which again and again landed him in problem earlier in his career.

A very grave incident was when he was imprison for six months in May 2008 - he served 74 days - after accepting an attack on a man in Liverpool in the last December.

He has since wanted the help of the Sporting opportunity clinic and has spoken openly about the ongoing fight with his devils.

Separately from punching Blackburn's Morten Gamst Pedersen off the ball previous season - for which he got a three-match sanction - he has kept himself out of difficulty
