James Brewer – suspected in D.C. Murdering, ran away from Court Holding Cell

The U.S. Marshals Service says a man accused with first-degree murder of a retired Army sergeant run away Friday afternoon from a D.C. Superior Court holding cell.

James Brewer, 24, is a suspect in the Washington, D.C., murdering of 71-year-old Solomon Reese. Sources tell MyFoxDC.com that Brewer was able to control his recognition bracelet with another hostage before his court appearance.

Brewer went before the judge posturing as another man and was able to leave of D.C. Superior Court, according to the website.

David Neumann, U.S. Marshals spokesman says officials are still prosecuting how Brewer ran away Friday afternoon. He was held in Newport News, Va., on Thursday.
Neumann says "detaining Brewer is the main concern," and marshals are looking for the public's help. A $5,000 prize is being given for his arrest.

Brewer is one of four men alleged of killing the former Army sergeant. Reese died from several gunshot injuries.

Brewer is expressed as a black man, 5 feet, 9 inches tall, about 180 pounds with dreadlocks just below shoulder length and goes by "Sticky." He is thought armed and hazardous.
