Apple proceeds on iPhone battery bug, accuses iOS 5

Apple has accepted that "some bugs" in its new mobile operating system iOS 5 are disturbing the battery life of some of its devices.

It said that it will circulate a fix in the next couple of weeks.

The matter came to highlight over recent weeks with several thousands complaining on Apple's forums about poor battery life.

In some cases, people said that their phone battery was demanding by up to 15% every hour, even when the phone was not being utilized.

The issue was not imperfect to Apple's latest iPhone 4S handset but also affected some of the company's iPad tablet computers which had installed the improved.

Primarily Apple would not give remarks on the matter but afterward last night it issued a statement: "A small number of consumers have reported lower than anticipated battery life on iOS 5 devices," it said.

"We have brought into being a few bugs that are damaging battery life and we will release a software revise to tackle those in a few weeks," it added.

When the iPhone 4S was pronounced last month, some were dissatisfied that it offered no thorough alterations.

In spite of that sales have been massive, with Apple maintaining  to have sold over four million handsets in the first three days.

Apple's servers were also besieged by demand for iOS 5 when that was released.

Internationally though Apple is starting to think the heat of competitors, particularly from sellers utilizing Google's Android operating system.

Research Company Strategy Analytics found that in the third quarter of this year Samsung leave behind Apple with 27.8m smartphone shipped compared to 17.1m iPhones.


And this week, observer company Canalys unveiled that HTC has become the highest seller in the US, leaving behind Samsung, and pushing Apple into third position.

Tim Coulling, an spectator with the company, said the new issue should not affect sales.

"It is not as shocking as the antenna issue that damaged the iPhone 4. This is about software and Apple can push out renews very rapidly," he said.
