Salford mother injure in Pendleton racist acid assault

The 29-year-old was walking along Broad Street in Pendleton on Thursday when she was come up to by a man in his 40s.
He made a sexual and racist remark to her before throwing a container of acidic liquid over her.
The sufferer, who is black, was admitted to hospital with burns to her chest and back, and is in a steady condition. Her baby was not harmed.
A police spokesman said it was considered to have been a haphazard assault on the woman and it was being treated as a revulsion misdeed.
Det Con Jim Harris, of Greater Manchester Police, said it was "a terrible attack on a female who was walking with her very little baby".
"Luckily none of the acidic liquid targeted the baby or went on the victim's face as the incident could have been a too severe than it by now is," he said.
"The criminal requires be catching and holding accountable for his deeds which have resulted a spiteful injury to the lady and much suffering."
The man was explained as being white, of chunky build, 5ft 10in to 6ft 2in tall, had very short, dark hair with a straight hair line and a bald area at the back.
He has blue eyes, a dimple in his chin and a red spot like a burn on his underneath lip and he talked with a British accent.
He was wearing a sleeved dark grey jumper with a round neck, black tracksuit bottoms with a grey and white stripe down each leg and black trainers.
