The simplest ideas are often the best and this Chinese road sweeper is no exception.

Looking like something that's been bodged together in a shed by animated inventors Wallace and Gromit, the wacky contraption uses 16 straw broomsticks connected to a rotating iron disc which spins round as it is pulled along behind a van.
