Egypt was enforced to shut the Pyramids at Giza on Friday following charges that Jews, Masons and numerologists were setting up to mark 11/11/11 by holding peculiar and non-Islamic practices at the site.

Egypt's Supreme Council of Antiquities given way to force after dissent groups behind the revolt that overthrew Hosni Mubarak in February insisted that the Pyramids be shut down for the entire of "Magic Friday".

The council faced a repercussion after it apparently gave go ahead to a Polish numerologist group that desired to hold a observance to safe the world from "cosmic forces" aim to wiping out the planet next year.

The group, calling itself Dar Swiatowida, called on people to participate a "Ceremony of Love" at the Great Pyramid during which "two interpenetrated pyramid-shaped gemstones" were to be placed in the structure to fill it with extra powers.

Numerologists consider that numbers have magical properties, making November 11, 2011 -- 11/11/11 -- one of the most powerful days in the planet's history.

The Polish group said the crystals, basis from an Indian mountain, would harness the power of all blessed sites around the world to make a safeguard between the planet and cosmic forces. Dar Swiatowida shares the conviction of some eschatologists that the world will come to a finish on December 12, 2012 -- 12/12/12 -- a day that represents the end of a 5,125-year cycle in the earliest Mayan calendar.

The irrational nature of the ritual frightened many in Egypt, a conservative country, with sentiments increasing more heated as growingly bizarre rumors started to move.

It was said that 1,200 Jews were setting up to attend the service with the intention of up righting a Star of David above the Great Pyramid to say their argue that it was constructed by oldest Israelites rather than ancient Egyptians. There were also blames that Masons, who are sometimes associated with Satanism by people in the Arab world, were also planning to attend.

A tour agency with some Jewish connections is engaged in the observance, but has forced that had no plans to erect any sign above the coffins of King Khufu, who is buried in the Great Pyramid.

Seeking to shun more arguments, the Supreme Council of Antiquities said the shutting was for "safeguarding" causes. It further that the Pyramids would reopen on Saturday.
