M5 Crash: One Dead In Motorway Collision, at Least 20 Injured

One person has been killed and more than 20 others injured in a crash on the M5 motorway in the West Midlands after a coach and lorry collided.

The accident happened on the southbound carriageway between junctions three and four, just before 6.30am this morning.

The motorway is currently closed in both directions between Bromsgrove and Halesowen, southwest of Birmingham.

The Fire Service said one person had to be cut out of the lorry, while two people were cut out of the coach.

West Midlands Police said two people were seriously hurt in the accident, while 20 others suffered minor injuries.

The person killed in the crash was a passenger on the coach, police confirmed to Sky News.

The force added the driver of the lorry was one of those seriously injured and no children were involved in the accident.

The Ambulance Service said a number of patients are currently being taken to various hospitals across the area.
