Apple- US technology giant has offered to reimburse Australian users who felt misinformed about the 4G competencies of the latest iPad.
The Australian’s customer supervisory body has taken Apple to court for bogus marketing because the tablet computer does not function on Australia's 4G network.
Apple's lawyers said they were keen to issue an explanation.
However the firm does not understand that it misguide to the users.
Australia's Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC) said on Tuesday "that Apple's latest advertisement of the new 'iPad with WiFi + 4G' is deceptive because it symbolizes to Australian users that the product can, with a SIM card, attach to a 4G mobile data network in Australia, when this is not the case".
The supervisory board then blocked a complaint at the Federal Court in Melbourne.
In an initial hearing, Apple lawyer Paul Anastassiou said Apple had never said the device would function completely on the existing 4G network operated by Telstra.
Apple says the new iPad works on what is internationally acknowledged to be a 4G network.
The issue could go to complete investigation after the Easter break.
The Apple iPad's third version went on sale prior this month, with Australia the first firm where it was available.
The customers lined up by the hundreds at Apple stores on launching day and the firm said it had been its strongest iPad opening to date.
The ACCC said it was looking for a ban on sales as well as an economic fine against Apple, corrective publicizing and repayments to shoppers.
On its website, Apple does elaborate that 4G LTE is only supported on special networks in the US and Canada.
